Projects:

  • Y2 - Line Launcher: Designed, built, tested an accurate squash ball launcher. Came 3rd out of our year.
  • Y2 - Responsive Design System: Designed a mechatronic system that senses and responds to the changing characteristics of its local environment, including the proximity of moving objects.
  • Y3 - Individual Project: Designed and optimised a passive magnetic axial thrust bearing, from a magnetic and structural standpoint.
  • Y4 - Group Design Project: Designed, built, and tested an unmanned Downwind-Faster-Than-the-Wind vehicle. I led the design of the propeller hub capable of a variable pitch for the blades, and planning and conducting the wind tunnel tests. I produced a python script to read and analyse the data from the sensors, and to enable viewing and plotting the characteristics of the experiments easily.
